Prof. Dr. Winfried Pinger studied and obtained his doctorate at the University of Cologne. After his second exams, he was admitted to the bar and opened a private exam course as a tutorial for candidates preparing for the first state examination.
In 1968 he agreed with the Faculty of Law to transfer his preparatory course to the University of Cologne, still taught today as the "Great Examination Course".
In 1972 he habilitated at the University of Cologne and in 1974 he was appointed professor at the Chair for Civil Law and Civil Procedure Law at the University of Bielefeld. He is the author of numerous publications.
From 1976 to 1998 he was a member of the German Bundestag, where he was a member of the Legal Affairs Committee.
Since 1984, after resigning his professorship, he has returned to legal practice. At CBH, he is particularly dedicated to the law of corporate succession and inheritance law.
Prof. Dr. Winfried Pinger is Chairman of the Cologne Association for Inheritance Law and Corporate Succession and a member of the Supervisory Board of a large corporation.
