Dr. Manfred Hecker studied in Cologne and Freiburg, where he received his doctorate in business law. He is a founding partner of CBH, specialist lawyer for copyright and media law and member of the German Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property and Copyright Law (Deutsche Vereinigung für Gewerblichen Rechtsschutz und Urheberrecht e. V.). (GRUR) and the working group of publishers’ in-house legal counsel.
The focus of his work is on the areas of intellectual property rights as well as copyright, media and gambling law. In connection with the amendment of gambling law in Germany, Dr. Manfred Hecker worked as a consultant for various federal states.
For many years, Dr. Manfred Hecker has been lecturing on selected topics at seminars and training events. He is co-founder of the "Cologne Symposium for Trademarks and Competition Law" as well as the "Cologne Days on Copyright and Media Law", co-editor of the "Zeitschrift für Wett- und Glücksspielrecht (ZfWG)" and the commentary Dietlein/Hecker/Ruttig on gambling law.
In addition to a large number of other specialist publications, Dr. Manfred Hecker is the commentator on the regulations on lotteries in the Großkommentar zum Lauterkeitsrecht by Fezer and co-author of the Fachanwaltshandbuch zur Urheber- und Medienrecht.
In JUVE 2013/2014 he is mentioned as a frequently recommended lawyer at CBH in trademark and competition law, media law as well as under the leading names in constitutional and gambling law.
