Ms. Hort-Boutouil studied law at the University of Bonn. She holds a Master's degree in European and International Law from the University of Bremen. She completed the practical part of her master's degree at the German-Slovenian Chamber of Commerce in Ljubljana.
Already during her master's studies and during her legal clerkship, Ms. Hort-Boutouil focused on trademark and unfair competition law. Since 2013, she has been a specialist in intellectual property law.
Her main practice areas are the registration and defence of trademarks in national and international contexts and competition law, in particular aspects of fair advertising. In addition, Ms. Hort-Boutouil advises in the area of utterance law, in particular in online reputation management. She has extensive experience in procedural law and advises out of court on both strategic and conflict resolution issues.
Ms. Hort-Boutouil regularly publishes on judgments and individual questions in her areas of expertise, gives lectures and seminars. She is a member of the German Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property and Copyright Law. (GRUR), the Cologne Bar Association and the Working Group of Women Lawyers in the German Bar Association.
